Fart Intelligence

Every day, we face new announcements about the latest AI product that claims to change human life. At the same time, researchers warn us about the dangers of using these tools too often1. According to a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, ChatGPT had been adopted by around 10% of the world’s adult population (2025)2. This means many people may face possible long-term negative effects if we don’t use these tools wisely.

Fart Intelligence is a project that criticizes both the speed of AI startup announcements chasing Unicorn3 status and the dumbing-down effect caused by using chatbots. Indeed, handing over your brain to a machine would not have a positive impact (wow really??!). The website, along with its promotional video, invites people – in a humorous way – to realize how stupid these platforms are and what messages they spread. The content follow the codes of such announcements and invite people, for example, to subscribe to FI Turbo 4, a weird name with no meaning except for marketing. This project also shows that by letting ourselves be charmed by promises, we agree to give part of our brain to a machine. When we let AI do the “doing”, we lose our creative thinking. The creative stage is important, because it helps us find our own style, try new things and get closer to happiness.

The original idea came from a French word play on the acronym GPT, which sounds like “J’ai pété” (I farted). What if ChatGPT only answered with farts?
